The Aputure LS 600d will be the brightest single source LED light available, rated at 600W output (720W draw) the fixture can fill an entire room at maximum power, and close to double the light output of the 300d II.

Unlike large and hot HMI lights, the 600d can be modified with domes, softboxes or egg crates. To take advantage of the brighter LED, larger barndoors and Fresnel lenses will become available to further modify the light beam.

Effects and 5-pin DMX are built into the ballast; strobe, lightning and paparazzi are three of the available effects, as well as custom ‘S’ curves for dimming that can be created and adjusted via DMX.

The Aputure LS 600d can also be controlled by the Sidus Link App, enabling seamless integration in the control ecosystem alongside the 300d II.

New cooling technology enables the on board fan to run very quietly, this can also be controlled for when silent operation is required on set.

Aputure aims to halve the size of the battery and control box, which currently takes 4 x 14.4 V-mount or Gold-mount batteries. In the future version of this battery box, Aputure will have two dual-voltage battery plates; 14.4V for 50% power or 28.8V for 100% power.

If you plan to power the device from the mains, it accepts 48V DC input. A a step-up converter can be used in conjunction with 14.4V batteries to enable 100% power.

The Aputure LS 600d really packs a punch from seeing it first hand, unfortunately as the fixture is still in the prototype stage there is no price available yet. Aputure are aiming to have the light ready to buy in Q1/February 2020 or before NAB 2020.
